Trainee Completes ILMCONTENT STARTS
Michael had spent 12 months in and out of casual work and aspired to find permanent full time employment to earn his own money and become independent. Michael applied for the position of a General Construction Operative at HMS through the ILM Access to Work Programme and following a successful recruitment process began his placement in March 2017.
Michael’s main duties has involved removing waste, working in void properties and garden works. He has also completed training for strimmer equipment and sharps and bodily fluid training.
To help enhance his employment prospects, Michael was also provided with funding from ComMutual and LMH, for driving lessons and he successfully passed his driving test.
Michael enjoyed his placement and fitted in well with HMS, he said: “I found the placement really productive and I would recommend it to others, the ILM Programme has got me where I am today.”
Robert Turner, Michaels Manager at HMS said: “Michael has been an exemplary trainee. He has shown a great work ethic and is highly motivated to do well. The team have all shared positive feedback about Michael throughout his placement and we look forward to him becoming a permanent member of the team.”
